The Science Behind
Rewire your Brain (RYB)
Transformational Coaching Program
Is your brain and nervous system really the problem?

The reason why treating only symptoms of chronic health conditions often does not get rid of these illnesses permanently is because the root of these conditions often lay in the brain and the autonomic nervous system (ANS) and not in the body. It is helpful to work with the body for optimal support and to speed up recovery, however the brain and the ANS control every single functioning in the body and therefore cannot be ignored when trying to recover.
The Rewire your Brain coaching program targets the neural networks in the brain, as well as the ANS, using the principles of neuroplasticity to help rebuild new neural pathways in your brain. This is turn will regulate your maladaptive stress response, which is involved in many chronic conditions. As you create new neural networks in your brain, your ANS will automatically reset, and as you tend to your ANS, your neural pathways will automatically rebuild. In the Rewire your Brain coaching program, you are taught ways to build new neural networks in your brain, and specific tools to calm down and reset your ANS.

What is neuroplasticity?
Modern science has shown us that the brain is not rigid and fixed as we once thought. Instead, the brain is more like that of plastic, and neuroplasticity is the brain’s ability to adapt and change. Through doing various brain rewiring exercises (involving small movements and speech), and other daily habit changes through the Rewire your Brain coaching program, literally new and healthier neurons grow in your brain, supporting optimal function in all systems of the body.
What is a maladaptive stress response?
In most cases of CFS and related conditions, mental or physical stressors lead up to the illness, or often a combination of both (in some cases, several). These may include a viral or bacterial infection, physical accidents, toxic exposure to mould or chemicals, vaccinations, surgery, extreme exercise, burnout and life events causing extreme emotional or psychological stress. Even “positive” events like pregnancy can feel traumatic to your brain and nervous system. These stressors can cause your brain and ANS to get stuck in a chronic fight, flight or freeze response, causing a maladapted stress response. In other words, at the root of CFS and related chronic health conditions for many is an underlying stress that (quite possibly unbeknownst to you) is going on all the time in your mind and/or body, even if the initial threat or trauma is no longer present.

Because the brain and the ANS are involved in every single function of the body, the symptoms of a neural network disorder and dysautonomia are endless, making CFS and related conditions very difficult to diagnose. Rewiring the neural networks in the brain, combined with practical tools to calm the ANS shift the brain and body from a chronic state of “fight, flight, or freeze” into a state of growth and repair, where recovery can take place.
